Golden Touch Corporation recently facilitated the planning and implementation of the Cuttington University Fundraiser Gala with subsequent week-long festivities surrounding the investiture ceremony of Dr. Romelle A. Horton. The Cuttington University Fundraiser Gala, attended by dignitaries from across the country, was a tremendous success and provided much-needed resources to Cuttington University. Despite the numerous difficulties encountered throughout the planning stages, Golden Touch Corporation was able to develop an organized and streamlined plan that led to the successful completion of the event.
Dr. Horton was inducted as the 13th President of Cuttington University, and its first female President since the foundation in 1889 as the oldest private four-year degree-granting University in Sub-Saharan Africa. The investiture ceremony for Dr. Horton disclosed a series of fundraising activities, including a gala program intending to raise One Million United States Dollars ($1,000,000).
The Purpose of the fundraiser is to support Cuttington University’s vision and mission to “Light Cuttington, Feed Cuttington, and Grow Cuttington”. The program also highlighted The Cuttington University Alumni Association in the Americas (CUAAA) contribution of $180,000 USD to the objective after its 30th reunion celebration in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America.
During the Fundraiser gala night in Monrovia, Dr. Horton identified and honored women who were the first to break glass ceilings with their academic effort in their respective career paths. Former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, Dr. Evelyn D.S Kandakai, Dr. Hanna Abeoudu Bowen-Jones, Cllr. Frances Johnson Allison, Madam Theresa Leigh-Sherman, and Mrs. Linnie M. Kesselly received awards.
