On December 3, 2021, D’CALABASH officially opened its BLUE ROOM VIP RESTAURANT to provide more classic and premier services to her many customers. The event, which brought together over 35 persons, took place at D’CALABASH Hotel in its Blue VIP Restaurant on Congo Town’s back road.
Golden Touch Corporation planned and coordinated the event, a business facilitation and management services firm.
The program occurred in two phases:
Outdoor
Mr. Lester Kromah, owner and General Manager of D’CALABASH Hotel, informed the attendees that the gathering intended to officially open its blue-room restaurant to provide an exquisite taste of classic services to her many customers. He added that he hopes that such a restaurant will suit the tastes of his customers. Also speaking at the outdoor program was Cllr. Neegbalee Warner. During his remark, he hailed the D’CALABASH family for the level of work done and the resilience they have applied in making their institution where it is now. He also admonished other entrepreneurs to emulate such excellent examples. He concluded by cutting the ribbon that officially allowed others entry to the new restaurant.
Indoor
The event was characterized by a musical interlude from two (2) of Liberia’s best vocalists, a brief background of D’Calabash Hotel, and remarks from friends and other invitees in attendance.
Giving a brief background of D’Calabash Hotel, Mr. Kromah said, this is a vision that he has had for a very long time. All his life, he had only dreamt of becoming an entrepreneur. “We need to let people know that Liberia and Liberians can do better in the world of business. This investment is not as big as others around the world, but at least we are getting there,” Mr. Kromah said. D’Calabash started in 2009 to alleviate employment challenges amongst young Liberians and improve the livelihood of people in Liberia. “Today, I am proud to say that as part of our effort to boost the Liberian business environment, we have employed over 50 persons who are also proud income earners”. Mr. Kromah added. He later thanked everyone for being in attendance and admonished them of his entity’s commitment to always providing the best services to the public.
During the program, Mr. John Davis, President of the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI), also remarked. He also lauded the entire D’Calabash family for such a great initiative. He particularly thanked Mr. Lester Kromah and his wife for exhibiting what he termed as a “TRUE SPIRIT” of entrepreneurship and business innovation. He said, today, not many Liberian businesses can speak of the successes that they have had over time as D’Calabash can. The reason for that is so because they have not been innovative. He concluded by encouraging the D’Calabash family to continue their endeavor and should not hesitate to stop by his LBDI office whenever he needs help.
Furthermore, Mr. Samuel Nagbe, D’Calabash’s Brand Ambassador, added by thanking Mr. Kromah and his wife, Madam Florence Ifey Kromah, for the effort. He also prayed that God continuously direct, guide, and give them wisdom as they strive to make Liberia proud through their actions.
There were varieties of food and drinks as the program continued and allowed people to network.
